Creative Workshop 2: “The view from inside”

Building on the session workshops and lectures, you should photograph from the ‘inside’. Photograph as Nan Goldin says ‘Your Tribe’. Study someone you are close to and make images with them that are of an intimate nature. Pay attention both to negotiation of the relationship and it’s depiction through the image.

‘These are my friends, these are my family, this is myself. There is no separation between me and what I photograph.’ Nan Goldin. This self portrait was taken so that Goldin would not forget the damage caused by her boyfriends violence.

I have always admired Nan Goldin’s work and this image is and will always be very powerful.
